How Much Does CompTIA Network+ Cost? Voucher, Retakes, and Renewal
CompTIA's U.S. store listed the CompTIA Network+ N10-009 voucher at $399 and the voucher with Retake Assurance at $519 on October 18, 2026. What each covers, what a retake adds, when Retake Assurance pays off, and the separate renewal fee.
Short answer
On October 18, 2026, CompTIA's U.S. store listed the CompTIA Network+ N10-009 exam voucher at $399 and the voucher with Retake Assurance, which adds one retake, at $519. Both are valid for 12 months from purchase. Each attempt needs its own payment unless you bought Retake Assurance, and renewing the certification later by earning continuing education units carries a separate CE fee, listed at $150 for the three-year cycle on the same date.
What CompTIA's U.S. store listed on October 18, 2026
CompTIA sells CompTIA Network+ exam access as a voucher, a code you redeem when you book. These are the U.S. list prices on CompTIA's Network+ page, in U.S. dollars, as checked on October 18, 2026. Sales tax, promotions, academic pricing and stores for other countries can differ, so check the page on the day you buy.
| Product | U.S. list price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Network+ Voucher | $399 | One attempt at N10-009 (V9). Single use, valid 12 months from purchase, redeemed in CompTIA Central. |
| Network+ Voucher Plus Retake Assurance | $519 | Your first attempt plus the option of one retake, both within 12 months of purchase |
| Practice and Exam Bundle with Retake | $548 | CertMaster Practice plus a voucher with Retake Assurance |
| Learn and Exam Bundle with Retake | $916 | CertMaster Learn plus a voucher with Retake Assurance |
| Complete Bundle with Retake | $978 | CertMaster Perform, CertMaster Practice and a voucher with Retake Assurance |
The same tab sells training on its own, which is optional and not an exam fee: CertMaster Study $144, Labs $189, Practice $209, Learn $499 and Perform $664, plus a $10 certification kit.
At booking, Pearson VUE's final step accepts a credit card or an exam voucher, according to CompTIA's scheduling page. So you can also pay when you book instead of buying a voucher first.
The $369 figure dates from December 2024
You may still see $369 quoted. That number comes from CompTIA's own Q&A blog post dated December 18, 2024, which gave the N10-009 retail price as $369 at that time. CompTIA's store listed $399 on October 18, 2026. Treat the blog figure as an older, dated statement and use the store price for budgeting.
Total cost by scenario
CompTIA's retake policy says you pay the exam price for every attempt and that it offers no free retests or discounts on retakes. Retake Assurance is the one way to pay for a retake in advance. At the October 18, 2026 list prices:
| Scenario | Plain vouchers | With Retake Assurance |
|---|---|---|
| Pass on the first attempt | $399 | $519 |
| Fail once, pass on the second attempt | $399 + $399 = $798 | $519 |
| Fail twice, pass on the third attempt | $399 × 3 = $1,197 | $519 + $399 = $918 |
Retake Assurance covers one retake only, so a third attempt needs a new voucher, and it must wait at least 14 calendar days after the second. The second voucher in the plain column assumes you pay the same list price later, which may not hold.
When Retake Assurance pays off
Retake Assurance costs $120 more than a plain voucher ($519 − $399). If you end up needing a retake, it saves you a second $399 voucher. It comes out ahead on average when your chance of needing a retake is above about 30%, because 120 ÷ 399 ≈ 0.30.
That is a break-even calculation, not a forecast. CompTIA says it does not publish pass rates, so the probability is your own estimate. A candidate who scores well across all five domains in practice and has done the hands-on work may put it low. Someone testing early against a fixed deadline may put it higher. Either way, both attempts have to fall within 12 months of purchase.
Bundles against buying the parts
If you already plan to buy CompTIA's training, the bundles cost less than the same items bought separately at the listed prices:
| Bundle | Parts bought separately | Bundle price | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Practice and Exam | $209 + $519 = $728 | $548 | $180 less |
| Learn and Exam | $499 + $519 = $1,018 | $916 | $102 less |
| Complete | $664 + $209 + $519 = $1,392 | $978 | $414 less |
If you were not going to buy that training, a bundle is not a saving. Free resources exist, including the objectives and a short practice quiz on CompTIA's Network+ page.
Discounts CompTIA names
CompTIA mentions three routes, without prices:
- Students. CompTIA's cost blog (December 18, 2024) says U.S. students with a valid student ID and a .edu email address can get student discounts on vouchers and training.
- Partners and aid. The Network+ page FAQ says CompTIA offers discounts through academic and nonprofit partners, and that veterans, students and other qualifying groups may qualify for financial aid or scholarships.
- Training programs. The same cost blog points to government-sponsored training, advertised through county workforce investment boards or a local American Jobs Center, and to nonprofit training programs in some U.S. cities. Check any program's current terms directly.
Costs that come from scheduling
Moving or missing an appointment can cost a full exam fee. CompTIA's testing policies say a test-center appointment must be changed at least one full business day (24 hours) ahead, while an OnVUE appointment can be changed up to its start time, and late changes or no-shows forfeit the fee. The scheduling guide covers both options. For the retake waits and what a fail means, see the Network+ passing score guide.
Network+ renewal fees come three years later
The CompTIA Network+ certification is valid for three years. Renewal has its own costs, and some paths have none:
- Continuing education units. Network+ needs 30 CEUs over the three-year cycle. CompTIA's CE fees page listed the Network+ CE fee at $150 for the whole three-year period on October 18, 2026, paid only if you renew by uploading CEUs, by your expiration date. CE tokens sell for $25 and $50 and can be used to pay it.
- No CE fee. CompTIA waives the fee if you renew by passing the latest release of the exam, by earning a qualifying higher-level certification such as CompTIA Security+, or by completing CertMaster CE. As listed on October 18, 2026, the $199 Network+ CertMaster CE course is for holders certified on N10-008 or earlier.
Recheck the CE fees page before you renew. The renewal guide compares each path.
