ISC2 CC Practice Tests: What ISC2 Offers and What a Score Means

What practice ISC2 itself shows for CC, whether its free flash cards match the current domains, why dumps are a risk, and how to read a practice score without converting it to 700.

Short answer

In the ISC2 pages we read on November 6, 2026, we did not find a full-length official CC practice exam. ISC2 shows a practice quiz page, free flash cards, and practice inside its official training, including a Study Questions eBook with 300+ questions. A practice score is a study signal only: ISC2's passing grade is 700 out of 1000, which is not 70%, and no source we read converts a practice percentage to it. Avoid collections that claim to reproduce real exam questions, because ISC2's Examination Agreement treats exam content as confidential.

What practice does ISC2 itself offer for CC?

In the ISC2 pages we read on November 6, 2026, we did not find a full-length official CC practice exam, and ISC2's self-study page lists no practice test. What those pages show is a practice quiz page, free flash cards, and practice inside ISC2's official training. That is a finding about the pages we read, not proof that no such exam exists.

SourceWhat the source statesWhat is not stated
Test Your CC KnowledgeIts title calls it an ISC2 practice quiz; our text reading of the page returned nothing elseLength, cost, registration, outline version, and what a result means
Official CC flash cards"FREE access" through a "short form"; five chaptersAn outline version or revision date
Official ISC2 training (article dated October 12, 2026)Self-paced and instructor-led formats, both with pre- and post-course assessments and a Study Questions eBook with 300+ questions; self-paced adds knowledge checks, domain quizzes, and flash cardsA price; the article mentions no practice exam
CC self-study pageLists the outline, self-paced training, the flash cards, ISC2 Chapters, and the ISC2 Study HubAny practice test or official study guide
Passy free tool (not from ISC2)20 free ISC2 CC practice questionsA score prediction; 20 questions are a small sample
Passy full prep (not from ISC2)Full ISC2 CC prep planned for launch has 900 questions and a 125-question mock examAdaptive delivery or a score prediction; neither is claimed

ISC2 describes its training as "aligned to the latest CC Exam Outline." That is ISC2's own statement, and we did not test it. Because the article shows no price, confirm the cost with ISC2 and weigh it against the amounts in the ISC2 CC cost guide.

Before you build the quiz into a plan, open the page yourself and note its length, its cost, and what a result is said to mean.

Do ISC2's free flash cards match the current domains?

Not by chapter name. The landing page, read November 6, 2026, lists five chapters that follow the areas of the original CC outline, while the outline effective September 1, 2026 uses different domain names. We did not submit the short form or open any cards, so this is a reason to check coverage, not a finding that the cards are wrong or out of date.

The table pairs chapters and domains by position only. The weights were checked November 3, 2026, and the last column comes from ISC2's article on the update and the current outline.

Flash-card chapterCurrent domain and weightWhat to check
Security Principles1. Security Principles (24%)AAA and due care/due diligence
Incident Response, Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Concepts2. Security Governance (17.3%)No chapter is named for governance; continuity and disaster recovery sit in Domain 2, and incident response moved to Domain 5
Access Controls Concepts3. Identity and Access Management (IAM) Concepts (20%)The identity lifecycle: role definition, provisioning, review, and deprovisioning
Network Security4. Networking and Cloud Security Concepts (21.3%)Cloud and zero trust
Security Operations5. Security Operations and Incident Response (17.3%)Intelligence, triage, asset lifecycle, and testing

ISC2's self-study page recommends the free cards "for rapid terminology drills," and that is a sensible job for them. Keep them for terms, and do not assume they cover every objective. The ISC2 CC study materials guide gives the objective-by-objective method for checking any resource, and the ISC2 CC security governance guide works through the domain with no chapter name.

For more recall practice alongside ISC2's cards, 450 flashcards are planned for launch as part of full ISC2 CC prep.

Why can a fixed practice test not copy the CC exam?

CC uses computerized adaptive testing, or CAT, in every listed language, and ISC2's CAT page, checked November 3, 2026, leaves no fixed-form version for CC. A set with a fixed list of items can rehearse pacing and reveal gaps, but it cannot reproduce adaptive selection.

What the CC exam doesWhat a fixed practice set can do
Selects items adaptivelyNothing comparable; its items are already chosen
Runs 100–125 items in 2 hours, and can stop after the minimum length at 95% statistical confidenceRehearse a two-hour limit, but not the stopping rule
Includes 25 unscored items you cannot tell apart from the restNothing comparable; you cannot rehearse this
Locks each answer: "Once a candidate finalizes an answer, it may not be reviewed or changed."Rehearse moving forward without returning to an answer
Respects domain weights at any exam lengthCover all five current domains, if it was built to them
Uses multiple choice and advanced item typesShow you only the item types it contains

The ISC2 CC domain and format guide has the full format rules. Use a fixed set to answer two questions: can you hold your pace for two hours, and which topics fall apart under time pressure?

For that longer session, a 125-question mock exam is planned for launch as part of full ISC2 CC prep, matching the top of the published item range. Treat it as a rehearsal of length and pace, not a copy of the adaptive exam.

Are ISC2 CC dumps safe to use?

No, and we advise against them. Here, a dump means a collection that claims to reproduce live exam items. ISC2's Examination Agreement, checked November 6, 2026, calls exam content "the exclusive and confidential property of ISC2," and says candidates are "expressly prohibited from disclosing, publishing, reproducing, or transmitting any exam."

The same agreement reserves serious consequences. ISC2 may "cancel or invalidate any examination score if there is any reason to question its validity," "revoke any and all certifications you may have earned," and "ban you from earning future ISC2 certifications."

Three limits apply to that reading. The agreement speaks of ISC2's exams generally and does not name CC. It does not use the word dump. And these are rights ISC2 reserves, not a statement that every person who buys a dump is penalized. This is our plain reading, not legal advice.

There is a study reason too. Remembering an answer shows you can recognize one item, not that you can reason through a new scenario. You also cannot verify which outline a dump reflects, and ISC2 calls the outline effective September 1, 2026 the exam's "first major content update."

These editorial checks apply to any practice that does not come from ISC2. They are our tests, not ISC2 rules, and we rank no providers.

  • Walk away if it offers: real, actual, or recalled exam questions; a promise that you will pass; or leaked content for payment.
  • Look for: questions described as original, a named outline with its effective date, coverage of Security Governance, and an explanation for each answer choice.

What can a practice score tell you?

A practice score can show where to study next; it cannot show whether you would pass. ISC2 publishes a CC passing grade of 700 out of 1000, but it "does not report to candidates the number of questions they answered correctly," and 700 is not 70% (checked November 3, 2026). No source we read sets a practice-score threshold. The ISC2 CC passing score guide explains the 700 standard and what your report shows.

What you seeWhat it can tell youWhat it cannot tell you
First-try percentageWhich topics to reviewWhere you stand against 700
Results by domainWhere to spend your next sessionHow many items you will see from a domain
Results on repeated itemsWhether you recall those itemsWhether you can apply the idea to a new case
Trend across fresh setsWhether your corrections are holdingA readiness level or a chance of passing

Here is a hypothetical example. You get 14 of 20 on a first try, then 18 of 20 on the same set a week later. The 70% tells you nothing about the 700 standard, even though the digits look alike. The 90% says little about understanding, because you had seen every item. The useful information is in the six first-try misses.

Keep first-try and repeated results in separate columns so a rising number cannot mislead you. Send each first-try miss and each guess to the worked error log in the ISC2 CC study plan. Then test the fix on an item you have not seen.

Which practice should you use next?

Match the practice to the job you need done. This table is editorial advice, not an ISC2 sequence.

What you needNext stepKeep in mind
VocabularyISC2's free flash cardsCheck their chapters against the current domains
A first sampleThe 20 free ISC2 CC practice questions, then ISC2's quiz pageRecord every miss and guess; a sample predicts nothing
A longer sessionThe Study Questions eBook if you have ISC2's training, or another set you have not seenTime the session and do not return to answers
A weak domainThe objectives in the domain guide, then a concept guide such as Security Principles scenariosExplain why each wrong option fails

If you are still choosing a main source, full ISC2 CC prep planned for launch is organized around the five current domains, including Security Governance. Whichever source you use, confirm the effective date on ISC2's exam outline before you spend money.

Your next step is to pick one row, run one session, and log what you missed. Then put the follow-up work on a calendar with the free ISC2 CC study plan.
