How to Reschedule or Cancel an ISC2 CC Exam

How to change an ISC2 CC appointment, check the rescheduling cutoff and fees, resolve a name mismatch, and protect your exam-code deadline.

Short answer

To reschedule an ISC2 CC exam, start in your ISC2 Courses and Exams dashboard and continue to the Pearson appointment details; ISC2 says rescheduling is not possible within 24 hours of the appointment. Its listed fees are $50 for rescheduling and $100 for cancellation, checked November 3, 2026. Verify the cancellation terms and your purchased exam-code deadline before confirming a change, because the rescheduling cutoff does not establish either of those conditions.

When is it still possible to move your appointment?

To reschedule your ISC2 CC exam, begin in your ISC2 Courses and Exams dashboard and continue to your Pearson appointment details; ISC2's Candidate Information Bulletin says rescheduling is not possible within 24 hours of the appointment. The listed change fees are $50 for rescheduling and $100 for cancellation, checked November 3, 2026.

Act before that final window. Check the appointment's date, time and time zone, then choose the action that addresses your problem:

  • Keep the appointment if you can attend, your registration and identification match, and your preparation plan still makes sense.
  • Move the appointment if you intend to take CC but need a different date. Check both the rescheduling restriction and your exam-code deadline before choosing a replacement.
  • Consider cancellation if you cannot commit to another date. Review the cancellation terms and any refund information for your purchase before confirming.

The bulletin does not establish a cancellation cutoff clearly enough to treat it as identical to the rescheduling cutoff. If cancellation is your intended action, check the terms shown for your booking or contact ISC2/Pearson for clarification. Do not wait until the last day on the assumption that the two actions share a deadline.

If preparation is the reason you want to move, identify the actual gap first. Use the ISC2 CC domain guide to name the topics you still need to cover, then decide what additional study you can realistically complete. For structured review, full ISC2 CC prep planned for launch is organized around the five domains.

How do you reschedule or cancel in the dashboards?

The bulletin's rescheduling route starts with ISC2, then takes you to Pearson. Use the account that holds your existing appointment:

  1. Sign in to ISC2 and open Courses and Exams. Locate the exam associated with your booking.
  2. Review your account information. Pay particular attention to your first and last names before continuing.
  3. Continue to Pearson and open the appointment details. Confirm that you are looking at the CC booking you intend to change.
  4. Review the action and its terms. For a move, check the replacement date, location, time and fee. For cancellation, inspect the cancellation terms and financial outcome before submitting.
  5. Complete the change and save the confirmation. Return to the appointment details and check the resulting status.

These final checks are an editorial checklist, not a promise that every purchase displays identical options. If you cannot find the appropriate action, or the displayed terms conflict with your purchase, contact ISC2/Pearson before assuming the booking has changed. Our CC registration and scheduling guide covers the original booking process.

Check code validity separately. ISC2's current CC product page describes an exam-only attempt within 365 days of purchase, while the Candidate Information Bulletin describes the period relative to scheduling. The current exam-only Peace of Mind Protection terms instead give two attempts within 180 days of purchase, subject to retake rules. These terms were checked November 3, 2026.

Because the wording differs, use the deadline attached to your actual purchased code and ask ISC2 to resolve a conflict. Do not assume moving an appointment starts a fresh validity period. A date that fits your study calendar still needs to fit your purchase terms and be available to book.

Which fee applies to each change?

The ISC2 exam pricing page lists these fees, checked November 3, 2026:

  • Rescheduling: U.S. $50, £35 or €40.
  • Cancellation: U.S. $100, £70 or €80.

Check the amount and terms presented for your location and purchase before you submit. A cancellation fee is not enough information to calculate a refund: do not subtract it from a remembered exam price and assume the remainder will be returned. Ask for clarification if the displayed financial outcome is unclear.

An editorial decision example: you still want the certification, but your work schedule conflicts with the appointment. First look for a suitable replacement within your code's validity. If no date works, review cancellation separately rather than treating it as an interchangeable way to postpone. If your concern is the total budget, the ISC2 CC exam cost guide covers registration and maintenance costs beyond this appointment change.

When extra preparation is the reason for paying to move, attach a specific task to the added study time, such as reviewing missed concepts before trying fresh questions. For a larger practice pool, full ISC2 CC prep planned for launch includes 900 questions.

What if your name or ID is the problem?

ISC2's exam-day policy requires the first and last names on your identification to match your registration. Name updates are possible until 48 hours before the appointment; ISC2 directs candidates with unresolved cases closer to the exam to reschedule. This rule was checked November 3, 2026.

The name-update deadline and rescheduling restriction are separate. A name problem discovered after the update deadline needs prompt attention while moving the appointment is still possible. Once you are within the final 24 hours, contact ISC2/Pearson immediately for guidance rather than assuming an exception is available.

Failed ID compliance or a no-show forfeits the exam fee. Simply staying home does not complete a cancellation. Check the CC exam-day checklist against your actual IDs before deciding to keep the appointment, and resolve discrepancies before the relevant deadlines.

What must you verify after making a change?

Treat the change as complete only after you have checked the confirmation against the appointment details. Use this editorial checklist:

  • Status: does the account show the intended reschedule or cancellation?
  • Appointment details: for a new booking, are the date, time, time zone and location correct?
  • Identity: do the registered first and last names match the IDs you will use?
  • Purchase deadline: is the new appointment within the applicable code validity?
  • Payment record: have you saved the confirmation and the charge or refund information actually provided?

If a confirmation is missing or the account still shows unexpected details, follow up with ISC2/Pearson. Keep the original and updated records together so you can explain the discrepancy precisely.

For a moved appointment, revise your study schedule using the free ISC2 CC study plan. Use the 20 free ISC2 CC practice questions to identify concepts to revisit; a small practice set cannot establish that you are ready to pass.

Set a concrete review task for the added time, and recheck current rules before any later booking. If your plan includes a longer practice session, full ISC2 CC prep planned for launch includes a 125-question mock exam. Your immediate next step is to open the existing appointment, confirm the time remaining and code deadline, and choose the change that you can complete under those terms.
