How Much Does the NCLEX-PN Cost?
The current NCLEX registration fee for U.S. licensure is $200 USD, rising to $350 USD on February 1, 2027. NCLEX-PN is U.S. licensure only. Extra Pearson fees may apply. NRB licensure fees are separate.
Short answer
As of September 2026, the NCLEX registration fee for candidates seeking U.S. licensure is $200 USD. Effective February 1, 2027, that registration fee becomes $350 USD. NCLEX-PN is used for U.S. licensure only. Additional Pearson fees can apply (including $150 international scheduling and $50 to change exam type in the U.S.). Your nursing regulatory body’s own application fee is separate and is not listed as a single national number.

NCLEX’s fees page lists the registration fee for candidates seeking U.S. licensure as $200 USD. The same page announces that effective February 1, 2027, the NCLEX registration fee will be $350 in the United States and Australia. After you pay, keep PN study moving rather than treating the receipt as the end of prep.
If you are reading this on or after February 1, 2027, use $350 USD as the current U.S. registration fee unless NCLEX has published a newer table. If you are reading before that date, $200 USD is the current U.S. amount, and $350 is the announced successor.
Registration fees are not refundable, including duplicate registrations, late cancels, and no-shows.
Why the Canada column is on the same table
The fee table also lists $360 CAD (excluding local taxes) for candidates seeking Canadian licensure/registration, rising to $570 CAD on February 1, 2027. Official registration states that NCLEX-PN is used for U.S. licensure only. Those CAD figures describe NCLEX registration for Canadian RN licensure/registration, not a separate “Canadian PN exam.” Do not quote $360 CAD as the LPN NCLEX price.
Australia currently shares the $200 USD registration fee with the U.S., also moving to $350 USD on February 1, 2027.
Extra Pearson amounts that are not the NRB fee

Licensure/registration fees charged by the NRB are listed as “contact nursing regulatory body.” Fingerprints, transcripts, and temporary permits can add more. There is no honest nationwide “total LPN license cost.”
How to register is the workflow. ATT is when you may schedule. Retakes mean paying the registration fee again.
Eligible U.S. veterans may use a VA reimbursement program for NCLEX; that is a VA process, not a Pearson discount at checkout.
After the card is charged
Use mixed PN practice so the fee buys a date, not a stall.
