How the plan sets your priorities
Rate how each content domain went on your last attempt. If your score report shows results by content domain, use them; the planner doesn't need exact scores. So the planner asks you instead: the content domains you mark as hard start your plan, mixed ones are strengthened, and confident ones get lighter review. Your answers are a self-assessment, not an official result.
Each content domain starts from its share of the exam in the official outline, multiplied by its priority: 3× to start, 2× to strengthen, 1.5× if you leave it blank, and 1× to maintain. A quarter of your time is mixed practice across all content domains. This is Passy’s planning method; it doesn’t estimate a score or a chance of passing.
Retake rules for the Paramedic
Wait 15 days after a failed attempt; reapply and pay the $175 fee each time. You have six attempts, and after three failures you must complete remedial education before the fourth.
- Initial courses are valid for two years from course completion; remedial education for a fourth attempt does not extend that date (Paramedic Candidate Handbook, Certification Process).
- An ATT is valid for 90 days; one bought within 90 days of course expiration ends with the course.
- Results post to the National Registry account, generally within three business days.
- Paramedic Candidate Handbook: About the Examination (Retesting) (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
