How the plan sets your priorities
Your CompTIA score report shows how you did in each domain. Use it to rate each one below; the planner doesn't need exact scores. So the planner asks you instead: the domains you mark as hard start your plan, mixed ones are strengthened, and confident ones get lighter review. Your answers are a self-assessment, not an official result.
Each domain starts from its share of the exam in the official outline, multiplied by its priority: 3× to start, 2× to strengthen, 1.5× if you leave it blank, and 1× to maintain. A quarter of your time is mixed practice across all domains. This is Passy’s planning method; it doesn’t estimate a score or a chance of passing.
Retake rules for the A+
No wait between the first and second attempt; wait at least 14 calendar days before the third and every later attempt. You pay the full exam price each time (CompTIA offers no free retests or retake discounts), and you can't retake an exam code you've already passed without CompTIA's consent.
- The 14-day wait counts from the date of the last attempt.
- No attempt limit is stated.
- A test taken in violation of the policy is invalidated and may lead to a suspension.
- The policy applies to each exam code separately: Core 1 and Core 2 each have their own attempt count.
