CompTIA A+ is earned by passing two exams, Core 1 (220-1201) and Core 2 (220-1202), in any order but from the same version. V15 launched on March 25, 2025, and English V14 (220-1101/1102) retired on September 25, 2025. Each exam has a maximum of 90 questions, including multiple-choice, drag-and-drop, and performance-based questions, in 90 minutes. The passing score is 675 for Core 1 and 700 for Core 2, on a scale of 100 to 900. Passy practice is not a CompTIA exam and does not predict a scaled score.

Exam at a glance
A+ V15. You need both exams, in any order, from the same version. Retired 220-1101/1102 material is history only.
Multiple-choice, drag-and-drop, and performance-based questions. 90 is a maximum, not a promise that every form has 90 items.
675 for Core 1 and 700 for Core 2. A scaled score, not a percent.
CompTIA lists 90 minutes for each core. A Passy practice set is not the exam clock.

Plan A+ as two exams: choose which core to take first, turn each objective into a task you can perform, and keep dump sites out of your prep.
