NAPLEX Registration for 2027: From Eligibility to Your ATT
Plan a 2027 NAPLEX appointment around degree conferral, board eligibility, your actual testing window, exam purchase, your ATT, and Pearson confirmation.
Short answer
For a 2027 NAPLEX appointment, follow NABP's current sequence: apply for board-approved eligibility, purchase the exam after approval, then use your emailed Authorization to Test (ATT) to schedule with Pearson. The rules were checked November 3, 2026; this is a planning timeline, not a confirmed 2027 application calendar. Recheck the current instructions and your actual eligibility dates before paying or booking, and save the appointment confirmation separately from the ATT.
How do you work backward from a target NAPLEX date in 2027?
To plan a 2027 NAPLEX appointment, follow the sequence in NABP's candidate bulletin: apply for board-approved eligibility, purchase the exam after approval, then use your Authorization to Test (ATT) to book with Pearson. An application or ATT alone does not reserve a test date.
The rules below were checked November 3, 2026. No universal 2027 application opening date, processing duration or seat-release calendar was verified. Recheck NABP and your board's current instructions before applying, paying or booking.
Start with a preferred 2027 date and work backward through four stages. This worksheet is Passy's editorial planning aid, not an official application calendar. Fill it with your own confirmed dates; leave unknown dates pending.
- Choose the primary board. Record your target 2027 test date, jurisdiction and the board requirements still outstanding.
- Complete the eligibility file. Record the degree-conferral date or existing FPGEC status, the date your school sends any required official transcript, and any accommodation request and approval.
- Purchase the exam and receive the ATT. Record actual eligibility start and end dates, exam-purchase status and ATT receipt. Approval must come before purchase.
- Book and save the Pearson confirmation. Record the confirmed appointment date, time and location. A preferred date remains a target until it is booked.
For each unfinished stage, identify who supplies the missing information: the school, board, NABP or Pearson. “Transcript requested” and “education verified” are different statuses. Move your target date if the confirmed prerequisites or available appointments do not support it; do not fill the gaps with an assumed processing time.
Which graduation, FPGEC and board conditions come first?
NABP's application instructions specify an ACPE-accredited entry-level pharmacy degree or FPGEC certification for the education route. The board of pharmacy makes the final eligibility decision, so meeting the education requirement does not replace the board's other requirements.
If you graduate in 2027, ask your school when the degree will be conferred and when it can send a transcript showing that conferral. A graduation ceremony or your preferred test date does not supply the required record. Build the eligibility file around the school's actual delivery information; there is no verified national graduation-to-NAPLEX timetable here.
If you are foreign-educated, establish whether FPGEC certification is already complete. ACPE international accreditation or certification of a foreign program does not itself remove the FPGEC requirement. An ACPE-accredited post-baccalaureate program also does not bypass FPGEC when the initial degree was not an ACPE-accredited entry-level degree. Use the 2027 pathway for foreign pharmacy graduates for the prerequisite steps and verified transition details.
Passing NAPLEX is one part of pharmacist licensure. Confirm the primary jurisdiction before applying; use the NAPLEX score-transfer guide for the separate decision about additional jurisdictions.
You can organize study while assembling the file. Start with what is on the NAPLEX to identify content to review. For structured coverage, full NAPLEX prep planned for launch is organized across five content domains.
What should you submit with your eligibility application?
Select the intended primary jurisdiction in your NABP e-Profile and follow its application requirements. For education verification, the official transcript must show that the degree was conferred and come directly from the school. A copy you submit yourself does not verify education.
If NABP has already verified your education or FPGEC certification, its instructions do not require repeated transcript submission. Check that status before requesting another transcript. If verification is still needed, ask your school to use the official submission instructions.
For testing accommodations, submit the request form and supporting documents during the online application process. NABP reviews the request, followed by the board where applicable. Candidates applying through the District of Columbia or Virginia should also check board-specific documentation instructions.
An accommodation request is separate from an approval. Record both in your worksheet, keep the approval email, and use Pearson's phone scheduling process once approved; ordinary online booking can leave the approved arrangements unavailable.
Before moving on, confirm the selected board, education-verification status and accommodation-request status if relevant. Keep the payment budget separately using the NAPLEX cost and fees guide for 2027.
For study alongside those administrative steps, begin with the 20 free NAPLEX practice questions. If you later want more practice volume, full NAPLEX prep planned for launch includes 825 questions.
Will your actual eligibility dates cover your 2027 appointment?
NABP describes eligibility as typically valid for one year, but your actual approved dates control, and NABP cannot extend that period under the rules checked November 3, 2026. Copy both dates into the worksheet rather than calculating an assumed expiration from when you started applying.
If you already have eligibility in 2026 and want to test in 2027, compare the proposed appointment with your existing expiration. Do not assume January starts a fresh eligibility year. If the target is outside your approved dates, resolve your next application step with the board and NABP before building the rest of the plan around that date.
If approval is still pending, keep the eligibility dates blank. You cannot confirm that a target appointment is within the testing window until you know the approved dates.
Check the purchase stage separately. Under the rules checked November 3, 2026, exam purchase is unavailable when 10 or fewer business days remain in the eligibility period. This purchase cutoff is not a universal advance-booking interval or a promise that processing and an appointment can fit into the remaining time. Check your remaining eligibility before paying and your ATT dates before scheduling.
When can you buy the exam, receive your ATT and book with Pearson?
The exam-purchase option becomes available after eligibility is granted. After payment, the ATT arrives by email with your eligibility dates and scheduling instructions. It is valid for one testing session. If the message is missing, check your spam folder and then contact Pearson, as NABP's instructions direct.
Read the ATT before booking and follow its instructions to choose an appointment within the authorized dates. Candidates with approved accommodations must schedule by phone with Pearson and follow the approved arrangements.
Save the appointment confirmation and compare it with the ATT. The authorization tells you when you may test; the confirmation records what you booked. Check both before arranging travel or finalizing your study calendar. Neither the target date in your worksheet nor receipt of an ATT establishes seat availability.
Also compare the ATT name with your intended accepted ID. The ATT uses the name in your NABP e-Profile. If correction is needed, NABP's instructions require action with both NABP and the board at least five business days before the appointment, checked November 3, 2026. The NAPLEX exam-day checklist covers detailed name and ID rules, including the limited middle-name exception.
Once the date is confirmed, use the free NAPLEX study plan to organize preparation. For what happens after testing, the NAPLEX passing-score and results guide explains results and retake context.
Include longer practice if it fits your needs. A 225-question mock exam is planned for launch as part of full NAPLEX prep, giving you a planned resource for practicing a longer question set.
What must you recheck if your jurisdiction or planned date changes?
These rules and fees were checked November 3, 2026. Confirm the current terms before making a change to a 2027 booking:
- Changing the primary application jurisdiction: cancel and apply again, including another nonrefundable $100 application fee. Check the board selection before the original submission.
- Moving the appointment: cancel or reschedule with Pearson at least two business days beforehand. Rescheduling costs $50. NABP's example gives Thursday at 9 a.m. as the deadline for a Monday 9 a.m. appointment. A replacement date must also fit the authorized testing window.
- Canceling a booked exam completely: cancel the Pearson appointment first, then cancel the NABP exam application. Completing one action leaves the other unresolved.
- Confirming the change: obtain Pearson's confirmation. Without timely notice, you forfeit the testing fee; deciding to cancel is not the same as completing cancellation.
The application fee is nonrefundable. An exam-fee refund may be available while eligibility remains valid, but cancellation does not guarantee a refund. Check the applicable instructions before assuming that money will return to your budget.
Update your worksheet after each confirmed change. Your next action is the first unfinished stage: verify the board requirements, complete the eligibility file, purchase after approval, or book and save the Pearson confirmation. Keep your actual expiration and confirmed appointment beside that action so a 2027 target remains grounded in your own approved dates.
