Minimum ASVAB Scores by Branch: What You Need to Qualify

There is no single ASVAB passing score. These are the enlistment floors official pages printed on October 4, 2026, and the cells they left blank.

Short answer

There is no universal ASVAB passing score. On October 4, 2026, GoArmy listed at least 31 to enlist, the Air Force listed 31 for high school seniors or graduates and 50 for GED holders, the Marine Corps listed 31 or 50 with a GED or nontraditional diploma, and the Coast Guard listed 32. Navy and Space Force public pages required a qualifying score and did not print one floor. A floor is not a job, and it is not a promise you will be accepted.

Start with the service, not a national pass mark

The AFQT is the enlistment percentile. How that percentile works is a different page. This page is only the enlistment floors that official recruiting pages stated when they were checked on October 4, 2026. Job composites are stricter for many roles and live on the line-score page.

A number in this table does not guarantee a contract. Age, education, medical fitness, citizenship, and conduct rules sit beside it.

Air Force officers take the AFOQT instead of the AFQT. Coast Guard officer programs use different tests. Do not apply an enlisted floor to an officer path.

The Marine Corps pages use the word “pass” for the 31 and 50 figures. That is their enlistment wording. It is not a national passing score for every service.

Navy and Space Force cells are blank on purpose. Third-party rating charts were not copied into those cells. Ask a recruiter for the current floor and for any preparatory program.

A confirmation checklist

  1. Name the service and the component, such as active duty or reserve.
  2. Name the education credential the recruiter will use: diploma, senior, GED, or another credential. The floor can change with that label.
  3. Ask whether a preparatory course exists for a score under the usual floor. The Army page describes two Future Soldier Preparatory Course options. Other services were not given a matching public description here.
  4. Ask for the job composite after the AFQT floor. Meeting 31, 32, or 50 does not assign a job.
  5. Write down the date you were told. These pages can change. The study plan can organize subjects after you know the target. It cannot confirm eligibility.

If a recruiter’s number differs from this table, use the recruiter’s current instruction and ask which rule changed. Do not average the two figures.
