PTCB Exam Day: What to Bring and What to Expect

Arrive 30 minutes early at Pearson. Bring identification that matches your PTCB Account. The PTCE uses an on-screen calculator. Unofficial results appear after the survey. Official scores follow in the PTCB Account.

Short answer

PTCE exam day is an in-person Pearson test-center appointment. PTCB says to arrive 30 minutes early and to bring an approved ID that matches your name as it appears on your PTCB Account. You will not be allowed to test without proper identification. The appointment includes a 5-minute tutorial, 1 hour 50 minutes of exam time, and a 5-minute survey. PTCB Help Center calculator guidance describes an on-screen calculator. Unofficial results appear after the survey. Official results follow in the PTCB Account.

Check-in is identity and security, not a cram session

PTCB’s exam-day requirements are an in-person Pearson process: arrive 30 minutes early, bring approved identification that matches the PTCB Account, and test under a live proctor. Keep last-day PTCE review to a short mixed set in Passy the evening before, then stop. Parking-lot flashcards spend the attention you need for ID, lockers, and the first items.

If the name on your ID does not match the PTCB Account, you can be turned away. That is an account problem you should have fixed before scheduling. How to apply and schedule is that path.

What the appointment contains

PTCB asks you to commit about two hours: tutorial, 1 hour 50 minute exam, survey. How long is the PTCB exam? separates that clock from arrival time.

Current delivery is a test center. Can you take the PTCB exam online? is the policy page. Do not arrive expecting a webcam PTCE.

Personal items follow Pearson center rules. Expect lockers. Do not plan to keep a phone, bag, or paper study sheet at the workstation.

Calculator rules

PTCB Help Center calculator guidance describes an on-screen calculator. A personal calculator is not the default. A handheld calculator is discussed only if requested and available at the center. Using the on-screen tool consumes exam time. It does not pause the 110-minute clock.

Practice the idea of an on-screen tool while you study, not the idea of your phone’s calculator app.

After the last item

The survey comes next. Unofficial results typically appear on screen after that survey, and a printed unofficial copy may be available. Official results post to the PTCB Account within three weeks. PTCB exam results is the status distinction.

Use the remaining days before the appointment for mixed PTCE practice in Passy, then protect sleep.

Exam day itself is check-in, the clock, and the unofficial slip—not a new outline.

Give calculations one last focused PTCE block in Passy only if that is the skill still breaking under time.

Another sitting, if it happens, still uses the current four domains.

Return to current-domain questions in Passy if another sitting is still ahead.
